It s actually happened out of sudden when my friend buzzed me on facebook saying 'hey mira, let's go to brussels and koln, it was Christmas coming soon and I really want to see how is the "Christmas Market" looks like, Jom!' . I was like Brussels and Koln? grabbed the calendar and wow, nice timing, it's Christmas and Mid-Term Break. I shall go!
So then, Brussels, Koln wait, we ll come. There were 4 for us and 2 of them were my housemate. For the sake of the budget we decided to travel by bus and guess how far it took us to arrive there? It was 6-7 hours plus (including all the stops, cruise (well have to cross the sea right; feeling titanic! and security check of course where we have to show our visa to the 'pegawai kastam' -- well it s a normal procedure afterall)
Bus also got tag, dont play-play... --->To Belgium
Our plan should be like this:
- Depart from London during the late night
Day 1:
- Arrive in Brussels, Belgium tomorrow's morning
- Sight-seeing thru Brussels City for half day (almost 6 hours)
- Take another bus from Brussels to Koln, Germany in the evening
- Arrive in Koln, Germany in late evening, a short night walk in there and check in at the booked hostel
- Go to the nearest Christmas Market (from what we goggled, there are 8 of them)
1st place must visit: Information Centre!
We called it Grand Palace, Brussels (during the day)
and this it GP during the night, mabeles!
** Brussels city tour formally begin**
Waiting for the tram to come, wehoo! @tram station
#tram is like a tube in london or lrt in malaysia --> the route looks very simple right? <happy>
The not so crowded tram! *.*
TADA! Atomium --> one of the most popular attraction in Brussels, the symbol of Europe Capital
close-up, very big one!!
But yeah, I managed to touch one of them LOL!
Day 2 :
- Tomorrow morning, city tour and completed all the 8 markets -- until night (err, we only covered 4 of them unfortunately :P)
* Koln, Germany here we came!*
In front of the most famous Cathedral in Koln, Germany --> it s raining ..
Another one big huge giant Cathedral --> ignore our Bollywood action
The above one at night
Koln's Street, oh yeah, they 'raped' the adorable green grass for the tram to move around the city, like a car.
Koln's city!
Ok, let me introduce, she is my bestie housemate, bella belly and she is trying to figure out what is christmas market actually. muahahah.. Well, this is our 1st christmas market visit. We should come at night for the best, will feel more 'marketable' hahaha
She now can smile and be more confident when the moon is started hiding the sun. hahaha
At the back is the C.M during the night, twinkle-twinkle!
CM's entrance!
Also got 'the wheel' in CM, well maybe this is their Fun Fair, A Christmas Fun Fair perhaps.
and Yes, we are riding those wheel! it s a scenery from the top of the wheel .. wee wee!
Please ignore the dark of me, just focus on the bright shiny stars and trees! muhehehe --> CM at night
Well, actually we did not buy something special from here because most of the food were non-halal and its souvenir kind of expensive. Ok, budget saved.
There, a lil bit closer to one of the stall in CM, they actually very creative in decorating their stalls. Well, it's Christmas, jingle jingle bell, twink twink.
Hoho, I guess my legs, my foot and my toenails need a rest. Shall heading to the hostel --> it s a CM on my right side
There You GO, lets sleep! voila! --> our hostel in Germany
Day 3:
- Should check out and take a bus again to Brussels, Belgium
- Arrived in Brussels and continue 'touring' Brussels
- Back to London in the evening.
*Brussels continuess ..*
I can't really pronounce them. muehehe.
Brussels's city
The Square, Brussels --> meeting centre
I cant remember the exact name of this place, but it s a palace.. :)
Ah, foods! we actually do not bought lots of foods during travel because we had our own boxes, but you can get this 'kfc' or 'mcD' in Brussels as well!
*Aha! we didnt pay anything for those meal because it s totally being charged under the Bus Company in Brussels for delayed our trip, well actually that was our bad as all drivers in Brussels do the strike during the day that we are suppose to go to Germany, Oh Dude! But well, folks said in every darkness, there will be a happiness (errr, weird quotes afterall), we had to face the delay to Germany but we had a very proper lunch anyway. Hehehe. But yeah, we arrived late in Germany and it did effect our schedule a bit. Peace Yo! :p!*
Bye Bye Belgium! @Brussels Central
So yeah, I guess I ve tried my best to share my first Europe Trip. Hehe. We are all arrived safely in London at night of the Day 3 and I was sleeping the whole day on the next day. HuaHuaHua.
For those who are wonder why we have to be like jumped here and there is because of the distance and the ticket prices between those places. It s cheaper and we will not get too tired when we have more stops. Well you know, we are not flying, we are 'busing' so we do not really want to just spend our time in a bus. It s better to be a jumper so long we can travel more and actually it s more adventurous. Really. And of course, cheaper ticket help us to cut cost. We need to spent on souvenir as well maaa.... muahahahaha.
Theres a lot to tell you guys about this wonderful trip but really I dont know where to start, where to add and where to show. So hope you guys enjoy reading this entry with all the pictures attached! Voila!
Me,
